U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Establishment No.37589-FL-1
The media has a U.S. sieve, mesh size of 20 X 50 and weighs 35 lbs./ft(3)
- Shipping and repackaging may greatly reduce the mesh size of a small portion of
this material. For treatment of potable water, a suitable filter (50 microns or
smaller) is suggested.
- This product is only to be used for the manufacturing or fabricating bacteriostatic
water filters which are used to remove objectionable tastes, odors, color and
suspended particles from municipally-treated tap water. Manufacturers or
formulators who use this media are responsible for providing data to the EPA to
support the registration of their products.
- This product is sold free of any warranties, expressed or implied, including
warranties of merchantability or fitness of use.
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency registered product.
Inhibits the growth of bacteria within the media bed.
Removes objectionable tastes, odors and color from
municipally-treated water supplies.
- Bestech’s Silver Impregnated Activated Carbon combines the special advantages of
two technologies into one product. Silver and Activated Carbon together make an
ideal Bacteriostatic water filter media bed.
- Silver has a long safe history in the bacteriological treatment of water, dating back to
the Romans. Silver inhibits the growth of bacteria within the filter media bed.
Through a proprietary process, silver is uniformly impregnated into the granular
activated carbon. This unique method of dispersion provides for greater
bacteriostatic efficiency and longevity of the media.
- Activated Carbon is widely used in water treatment for its special ability as a broad spectrum
adsorbant of unwanted molecular species. It is able to perform this function because of its
extremely large internal surface area. Since our media is most often used in home water
filters, great care was taken in the selection of activated carbon to provide the highest
organic and chlorine removal capabilities possible. This was accomplished by an
exhaustive side-by-side comparison testing of about every type, size and porosity of carbon
available.
- We are pleased to offer our media with multiple levels of silver content so users can select
the capacity of bacteriostatic activity they need for their particular product or application.
